About Dublin City Association

The Dublin City Association (D.C.A.) of An Taisce is the local branch of An Taisce in the Dublin City area. The area covered by the association includes Dublin 1,2,3,4,5,part of 6W,7,8,9,11 and part of Dublin 12.

Within this area the D.C.A. monitors planning applications, comments on important environmental issues, produces policy documents, lobbies the Government and Dublin Corporation in relation to key environmental policy and organises guided walks and lectures.

With limited resources at its disposal the D.C.A. monitors about 5000 planning applications each year (about 100 a week) in fulfilling An Taisce's role as a prescribed body. Every week a number of these applications warrant a submission from the D.C.A. This could take the form of an objection, a suggestion for improvement, or a comment. In certain cases, the D.C.A. may appeal decisions of the Corporation to An Bord Pleanala.

  • It can do what you, the members of An Taisce living primarily in Dublin City and the inner suburbs, want it to do.
  • It can help when there is something you want questioned, stopped or improved
  • It can help you organise if you have a local problem; it can refer you to outside expertise; it can make representations on your behalf.
  • It can help you enjoy the heritage of our City with visits to sites or houses of special interest.
