Make a note of the date 8th September for this year's AGM with discussions on organisational matters of importance AND an afternoon session on Sustainable Development Goals as they impact on Ireland's heritage.
The AGM promises to be an interesting event this year. There will inevitably be reports on how the organisation is developing and possible restructuring of the different units. Inter-related to these issues is the progress of updating our governance, which will require a renewed constitution. But for those less interested in organisational matters (important though they are) the afternoon session will provide a particularly interesting overview of the Sustainable Development Goals. We are inviting outside speakers to join our own staff and voluntary experts to bring us up to date with new ways of linking the global to the local. Members are invited to join us for the afternoon, even if they want to skip the business part of the day. The usual notice of meeting with timings of all this will be sent nearer the day.
We would also like to ask members again if you'd like to get more involved by joining our council, or by encouraging someone you know who might have some special interest or expertise in heritage to join in. Council members and others are encouraged to participate in one of An Taisce's committees: the Climate Committee and Natural Environment Committee are strong and function efficiently, other committees need development, that is the Built Environment Committee and the Properties Committee. New committees also need to be established: a Fund Raising and Membership Development Committee.
If you or someone you know would like to join Council nominations should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
