Use: country house Townland: Castlesaunderson Demesne County: Cavan More Info: Click Here Last Reviewed: August 2019 Criteria for Risk Vacant with no identified new use Suffering from neglect and/or poor maintenance Assessment Condition of Structure: Poor Level of Risk: High Appraisal The 18th century house was substantially altered and extended in early 19th century in a castellated style. This building has been vacant for a number of years and does not appear to be maintained. Most of the external fabric remains, but there are obvious signs of deterioration. There is no immediate danger of collapse but the condition is such that unless urgent remedial works are carried out the building will sharply deteriorate. This building urgently requires new uses to be identified to prevent integral features being gradually lost. Coillte Teoranta who own the property on which the house, yard buildings and other structures on the demesne have no current proposals for the future use. Part of the property is partly used as a scouting centre. Photograph Credit: theirishaesthete.com Recommended Use Conservation/Management Manage Cookie Preferences
