An Taisce have decided to provide a Development Plan Initiative with the following aims:

• Its first aim is to improve An Taisce’s submissions to County Development Plans
• To facilitate and support local associations and local communities to participate in the process of adopting county plans in an informed and effective way.
• To prepare a package of tools that are required by all areas, and guidelines that recommend a work plan common to all counties.

This will be based around a website that supports users, both An Taisce an others, in making their submissions to Development Plans.  The website will contain a searchable database of all current Development Plans, guides to making the submissions and different cooperative working tools.

There will also be a programme of training, seminars and meetings with Local Associations to bring them up to speed so that they can make their own submissions and involve local communities in the process.
