Donated under the understanding that it would be managed for conservation.
MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND FUTURE PLAN
- Acknowledgement by Duchas is needed to acknowledge An Taisce ownership and the function of this property in the form of signage and literature.
- Review Turbary Rights and sheep grazing, and stop them if necessary.
- Opportunities should be investigated to acquire additional land along side Lough Nacung.
- Assess visitor carrying capacity by establishing management zoning.
- Assess opening access from Glentornan.
- Investigate tourism opportunities at Glentornan.
- Establish an endowment fund.
