An Taisce is on the path to adopting the Governance Code as a Type C Organisation.

An Taisce's Articles of Association also state in Article 51:

Director. A Director shall be appointed by a two thirds majority of the Council. The Director shall be a paid executive employee, responsible for the day-to-day running of An Taisce; for overall management of the staff, committees and office operations of An Taisce; and for financial management of An Taisce’.

An Taisce's Executive Structure is as follows. The Board deems this to meet the requirements of Article 51 and the Governance Code given the financial constraints under which An Taisce operates.

Honorary President

The President is an honorary role.

Non Executive Board of Directors

An Taisce has a non-executive Board of Directors including officers the officers of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer


The executive structure for each unit is as follows:

  • Head Office Unit: Executive Committee with support from Office Manager

  • Education Unit: Education Unit Director

  • Advocacy Unit: Advocacy Officer

  • Properties Unit: Executive Committee with support from Office Manager
