O Shea's Shopfront on Burke Street, Fethard Co Tipperary is an early 19th century shopfront with fluted Corinthian columns, ornate cornice detail and mullions dividing shop windows. The retail use has ceased for a number of years. The lower section of one of the Corinthian columns is now missing. Careful conservation work is required to maintain what is both a town centre landmark in Fethard and one of the finest Irish shopfronts of its period. The importance of the building is noted int he National Inventory and given a national importance rating. There is no immediate danger of collapse but the condition is such that unless urgent remedial works are carried out the building will sharply deteriorate. This building urgently requires conservation works and a new use to be identified to prevent integral features being gradually lost.
