Green Communities Open Day at Irish Seed Savers:

Irish Seed Savers Association Itinerary:

12:30 pm Arrival at Irish Seed Savers Association . Check in at Cafe/Shop with cup of tea/toilets/shop.

12:30 pm – 2:00 pm A Welcome and introduction to Seed Savers within our Seed Bank. Training on growing from seed to seed collection (Full plant lifecycle). The saving, storing, and using our own seed. Practical demonstrations. Describe selection of suitable ISSA vegetable/flower seed varieties for the project, and a brief outline of the Apple Tree production here at Seed Savers, and what’s involved in growing apple trees.

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Picnic in the gardens. (weather permitting)

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Tour of the seed gardens and orchard.

4:00 pm Finish up at Cafe/shop.

Note: While this event is free to Green Communities Group members, those participating will have to arrange their own transport to this event. Note: This event is run jointly with West Limerick Resources who have funded the "West Limerick Tidy Towns Network" training programme, provided from 2012-2014 by An Taisce Green Communities Programme.
