This final Green Communities event for 2014 will be on Thursday the 27th of November, at 7 pm in the Shankill Bowling Club, Quinn's Road, Shankill, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown. A map locating the venue is attached with this email.
The evening event involves an introduction to Waste Minimisation Techniques for Tidy Towns and other community groups (e.g. peat-free composting, rainwater harvesting). It would be delivered via an introduction to the Green Home Programme. This Programme seeks to reduce the resource use of households, while at the same time delivering cost savings. It is a preferred action under the “Sustainable Waste and Resource Management” criteria of the Tidy Towns Competition. Green Home Handbooks can be distributed, and these include a resource use survey and a set of improvement measures to engage with. Any households that Tidy Towns Groups can sign up to the Green Home Programme should be listed in their Tidy Towns Application. Households can also access the Green Home Programme online at: http://greenhome.ie/
