It is partially roofless with very little of the interior remaining. Most of the external fabric remains, but there is advanced deterioration, particularly water penetration, slipped slates, vegetation growth, broken windows and vandalism. This impressive complex of industrial buildings dating from establishing of a distillery in 1784 are ideally located in the centre of Monasterevin. A range of new uses should be easily found in such a central location. The mash house with conical dome are architectural features of significant importance and should be central any new proposal put forward for the site.
