Legacies

Would you consider leaving a gift in your will to support Ireland’s environment? An Taisce has been fortunate in receiving a number of gifts / bequests over the years from members and supporters. They have ranged from properties to sums of cash – large and small. We appreciate them all. Once you have looked after your loved ones, a gift in your will is a wonderful way to help protect and enhance the landscapes, nature and heritage buildings that so enrich our lives. There is a saying that “the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” You could choose to leave a percentage of your estate, a residue or a specific amount.

How?

Once you have provided for your loved ones, add one of these amendments (codicil) or similar to your will. You can also contact us to receive our legacy pack.

Sean Mulcahy, a tribute

An Taisce has recently been the grateful recipient of a bequest from the estates of Sean and Rosemarie Mulcahy. The Mulcahys were artists and longtime supporters of the work of the organisation. Rosemarie was a former Honorary Secretary of An Taisce. Our thanks to their family for this generous gift which will greatly assist us in our work.

Our Compost for Nature guide is now available! For years, the garden and landscape industry has been selling us peat moss as “compost.” In reality, this is peat-moss that is nutrient-poor and bad for our peatlands. The good news is that there is another more sustainable way to nurture soil health AND reduce waste - composting!
