Appraisal

The 18th century house was substantially altered and extended in early 19th century in a castellated style. This building has been vacant for a number of years and does not appear to be maintained. Most of the external fabric remains, but there are obvious signs of deterioration. There is no immediate danger of collapse but the condition is such that unless urgent remedial works are carried out the building will sharply deteriorate. This building urgently requires new uses to be identified to prevent integral features being gradually lost. Coillte Teoranta who own the property on which the house, yard buildings and other structures on the demesne have no current proposals for the future use. Part of the property is partly used as a scouting centre.
