An Taisce has considered the proposed development by the ESB at Fitzwilliam Street (Reference: 3052/14) as fundamentally flawed. It is seeking a large scale commercial floorspace scheme at a time when a residential vision has been outlined for the subject area, and at a scale and density that does not preserve the character and setting of the internationally significant Georgian area of Dublin in which it is sited and that of the individual protected structures in the vicinity. As such it is considered that the proposal as a whole would be contrary to a range of provisions of the Dublin City Development 2011-2017. For a more detailed report, see link below.
