Appraisal

Georgian symmetrical farmhouse, once the residence of Arthur Guinness and now within the grounds of Beaumont Hospital. Owned by a religious order from circa 1900, who extended it to the rear and east, but maintaining the primacy of the original house. The house maintains a good, south-facing aspect and setting to the front, looking onto Beaumont Woods. A significant sum was expended by the HSE on its restoration in the mid-2000s.

The building is vacant and not being maintained by the hospital. The fabric largely remains but there are signs of vandalism and deterioration.
