An Taisce has a seat at the table in the government's new Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) Consultation Committee and is one of the stakeholders providing a voice for the environment in these discussions.

This committee was set up following the recent announcement by the EU Commission of proposed changes to the next EU budget that would impact the Irish agri-economy.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon, TD, opened the first meeting of the CAP Consultation Committee to look at the European Commission's proposals for the next EU Budget (MFF) post-2027 and the next CAP.

Minister Heydon said that he will begin the engagement with key stakeholders, including An Taisce, at the first meeting. "The Committee will play a crucial role in ensuring that the CAP reform process is transparent, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of various stakeholders within the agricultural and rural community.”
